Dickon.
Yes, it's a real name and yes school was an interesting time. But don't worry you'll get used to it.
I am a formerly London now Yorkshire based digital designer and animator who for the last 20 years has been making things look good and move for mobile devices, online and television.
I started my career creating character animation for children's TV series for BBC, ITV, S4C and Disney initially as a traditional animator using pencil and paper before going digital with Flash and CelAction.
After a few years I became interested in new media and how design and animation could be used in more interactive way. I completed a Masters in Interactive Media that gave me the opportunity to gain skills in user centered design, user experience and interface design as well as how to wire-frame, prototype, user test and project manage for web and mobile products.
After the Masters notable projects included developing an app to support the John Lewis 'Bear and Hare' Christmas campaign, directing a series of short films for the British Heart Foundation and working on the new animated series of 'Mr Bean'.
Currently I am the Head of Design at Scary Beasties developing games and augmented reality products for clients such as the BBC, Hasbro, Warner Brothers, Disney and Sky. We also won a couple of BAFTAs.
I love travelling, nature and getting stuck in to home improvement projects (with varying degrees of success)! I once went kayaking with a guy who looked like Robert Redford and had a pet crow.
I’ll tell you later.
Here I am eating a cheese bap on a glacier.
